For the past several days, right out of the blue, a box with this keeps popping up on my computer, can anyone tell me what is going on?

A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.

Don't ask me again

Also, I get the beach ball very often and that is new too. It doesn't seem to matter what the website is and I haven't done anything to my computer settings, how do I get rid of this?
I would be very appreciative if anyone can tell me what's going on...
