Ive been wondering why my music catalog takes up so much dang room on my iPhone. After months of wondering, I finally looked up why.

The problem is Ive been downloading my music at the wrong bitrates all these years. MP3 standard is 128. Or at least, it's always worked fine in the past for me. But for the last few years everything Ive been getting Ive accidentally been downloading at 320kbps, thus taking up a huge amount of space with each song.

So that is the situation, and now why Im here is to figure out how to solve it.

Ive found these two links that show me how to "CREATE" ACC versions...

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3659572

https://www.avforums.com/threads/best-way-to-convert-my-entire-itunes-library.1594631/

I tried it, but I ran into some problems.

1. Im not looking to "create" but to convert my catalog to ACC versions of all my mp3's
2. I dont want to lose all my playlists, and it seems that when the ACC versions were "created" all I ended up with were duplicates of every song

Im just looking to convert the catalog to 128kbps and not lose my playlists or metadata

Is this possible? And if so, how?

THANKS.

edit:

I figured out how to convert things to the right bitrate. But it's still creating duplicates that now dont show up in my playlists.

It would totally suck to have to re-create all my playlists.
