In Windows 7 or XP it's known as a shortcut and you can see a small arrow pointing toward the icon. In Mac OS X a shortcut is called an "alias" but the same small arrow pointing toward the icon can be seen. Does that help? (your question is hard to understand)

Move the darn "alias/shortcut" to wear it does have some use!;)

The "alias" is probably being created where it is not needed/useful. So after it is created…move it to wear it is helpful (alias's are moveable).:)
