I have a Time Capsule bought in October 2008 which is not backing up properly. It is only backing up items on the desktop, not the documents folder. Is there some way I can fix this, please?

It is copying the documents folder unless you went into Time Machine Preferences - Options and have excluded that folder or a higher folder in the path from the backup. If so, you need to remove it from the exclusion list.

Time machine

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have not excluded the Documents folder in Options. Any further ideas, please?

What makes you think it is not being backed up?

If you are expecting the Time Machine window to browse like a Finder window - it won't.
Can only guess you are not waiting long enough for TM to retrieve the info and display it.
I've had it take 2+ minutes to display info.
Check the bottom right corner of the page/window - if you see the wheel spinning, it's still fetching the data.

I have given it more than enough time. No matter how long you wait, it just is not happening.

A power down and re-start of the Time Machine. Had a similar situation and turned out to be a duplicate IP address. The restart fixed it.
