Hey guys,

I've had my mac since the beginning of January and I've got the hang of it.

I've found some really cool free programs to use such as VLC, Cocktail, Senuti to play with.

I was just wondering if people could list me some funky programs to help me maximise the use of my mac, or just any really useful programs.

They need to be free programs, I can't afford to buy any what with my student financial status at the moment.

Cheers,

Menu Meters is pretty good, sticks some gauges and graphs in your menu bar so you can monitor the status of your system.

I've got a dashboard widget (iStat nano) that tells me stuff like that, it has CPU usage, system temperatures, memory usage, disk usage, network info, processes, uptime and battery info.

It's quite a funky little program! Does Menu Meters have anything extra? Where could I get it from?

I like it better then a widget because you don't have to bring up dashboard to see it, and you can see it lets say if your computer is not responding and dashboard willl not come up you can see if your processors are running at 100% .. also durring regular usage you can see things like network usage cpu, ram.. etc..

I've just downloaded iStat Pro. It looks good so far.
