My wife is probably gonna get p'd off.. I ordered me a new BenQ 32" Pro Graphics Monitor last night. hehe.. It wasn't cheap, but it did cost less then a 27" Apple display. Here is a link to it on BenQ's website..
Thought it would make a great companion to my Mac Mini, which is still plenty powerful enough to keep me going for another 2 to 3 years.. However I will be upping the RAM from 8 to 16GB in a few months. I had considered getting the new 5k iMac, but think I will schedule my upgrade for the Mac Pro that follows after the next refresh (the one coming after the next refresh, i.e. 2 new models aways). One reason I am in no hurry is that Adobe Lightroom still does not utilize a GPU, unlike Photoshop that does. But even the HD4000 iGPU in my current Mac Mini is enough for what I do in Ps to keep it running good. I am hoping by the time I do upgrade in about 2 to 2 1/2 years, that I will be using and pushing Final Cut harder making videos that will justify it. Which I am sure it will. I plan on moving to 4k video by then, slowly stepping into that now with some Time-Lapse videos. So the dual FirePro video cards in the Mac Pro will make FCP shine..
