Hello everyone:

I have a late 2007 Macbook Intel core 2 running on Lion 10.7.5. While on a familiar site for watching television episodes, I got the following "symptoms".

Safari has a pop up that automatically reappears when you hit the OK button. The pop up has an 800 number to call. Safari is frozen, and new safari windows are frozen. I can't get to Preferences or Reset Safari as they are greyed out. See attached screenshot.

I have run a full scan with Avast, and used Adware Medic. No fix. Help! Thanks, Ron

Fixed!! It was a scam site. Thanks to Thomas Reed at thesafemac.com

Anyone else this happens to.....force quit Safari from apple icon or command-option-escape.
Re-launch Safari with shift key held down. Avoid site forever! Ron

Good job solving it yourself. Video sites are notorious for crapware and malware. Safe computing means "don't go there."
