(Using Mail.APP) I know I can do it manually, but is there a way to automatically add incoming Sender's addy to my Contacts?

Well as automatically as using "add Sender etc' under Message.

No. And with the amount of junk mail typical users get, most people are very grateful adding the sending to Contacts isn't automatic.

thx for the response. however, your suggestion is the same as my "manual" method. I know it's only 2 clicks away, but ...
in my previous MS days, there was a Preferences option to automatically add incoming mail addys to a contacts file.

Why would you want to add spammer addresses to your contacts file?

As I remember things, the sender addy would be added to my Contacts only when the message was opened. The spam filter takes out the obvious crap and I inspect the rest.

I guess the problem for me is that I have to manually populate the Mac Contacts app unless my buds contact me first.

Also a problem ... I can't import the MS Address Book file *.wab into the Mac.

Well, life goes on.

Yes you can. Export the MS Address Book file to *.vcf format. Then import the vcf file directly into your contacts app on your Mac.

Thx Chas. I'll give it a try. The first effort I made late last year was to convert the wab file to comma delimited ... but it didn't work out well.
