I am planning my new iMAC purchase.
I have a spare 2tb hard drive which can be formatted for MAC as a backup drive.
I would like to put this in a NAS enclosure attached to my router solely for Time Machine backups.
Would that work? or do I need to buy Apples Airport hardware?

Thanks for the link. Using Linux I used to have to regulally type commands to get things working so it should'nt be a problem. Looks like Apple realy want you to use their stuff!

I am looking at NAS enclosures to install my 2 spare HDD's.
Buffalo Linkstation 220 and D-Link DNS-320L or 320LW. Both these makes state "Time Machine Compatible" and are a similar price etc. Has anyone any experience of these makes/models or could reccomend any other make. The Apple product includes HDD's so am looking at something that will take my existing drives.
