Hi guys!
I'm toying with the idea of upgrading to 802.11ac and have done a bit of research. I still am not sure if making the switch is worth it.
Here is my stuff:
Mid 2011 21.5" iMac
Processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB
Memory 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
240GB 6G SSD from OWC
3TB 7200RPM HDD from OWC
2011 macbook air - blah blah
2x iPhone 5s - blah blah
iPad 3 - blah
Anywho - I'm looking at this: Edimax EW-7711MAC AC450 Wi-Fi USB 802.11ac... in stock at OWC
for my iMac to upgrade to 802.11ac and a Time Capsule. Will the dongle improve performance and decrease latency if the 2011 iMac supports up to 450Mbps 802.11n?
Again - I understand that my internet connection is the bottleneck for download/upload speed to the net. But I am doing this more for local wireless network. I'd like better airplay performance.
Thanks!
tim
