my music won't delete?

on my itunes, on the section of the music thats synced to my iphone, ever since updating to mavericks it just wont delete?

when i click on a song (or multiples of songs) and then hit the backspace, and nothing happens?

any help would be great.

PS. also, is there anyway to simply erase all music off the iPhone? and then start dragging music over from my itunes again ?

It can also be done from within iTunnes. http://www.mademan.com/mm/how-remove-songs-my-apple-iphone.html If you are using Music Match it may appear that the songs are still there.

okay, now there is no music on my phone, but itunes still shows 13 albums of music still on my iphone on the itunes interface on my macbook

any ideas?

you can see there is no music stored on my iPhone - due to the space free.

however all these songs are still there, and when right-clicking them there is no delete option?!

Do any of these albums have a cloud symbol on the cover? If so, you probably have iTunes Match turned on.

Edit: Posted that before I saw your image. Off to double check something before I answer.

Also, what i think is happening, is that the music i cant delete is synced to iCloud.. I THINK, not 100% sure though.

Any music you have purchased from iTunes is synced to the cloud. It's a permanent backup, you can't delete it. But you can turn off displaying it on your phone.
