So suprised that nobody has heard of this. Seems that connecting two seperate programs together would be a pretty basic task to me! Maybe a trip to the apple store!

I'm not a network genius but lets go at things from a different perspective. What exactly are you using the loopback adapter to accomplish?

hi, well i do lighting for live events. I have a lighting visualisation software where you can create your show and have all your lights placed etc. You can connect a lighting desk via ethernet and program your show seeing how it would look. However you can also get the lighting desk software in a version that runs on mac. Therefore you can connect the two softwares together via ethernet ports using the loopback which tricks the pc/mac to communicate internally via the ethernet protocol. I have done this on a windows machine with success using the microsoft loopback adapter. Though it seems that one doesn't exist on the mac. thanks for looking.

Interesting question and project, but I don't really know, but I'm just having and enjoying a glass of nice red dry wine and a google search came up with these, some may be a bit old however:

For these and more, I just searched google on:

PS: As an aside regarding Ethernet, my wife just asked me if I knew what Ethernet was from something she was reading. I failed with my explanation and I didn't know that it was a net used at Easter to catch the EtherBunny!!! Sorry, and have a good NA national holiday!!!

Have you looked at Mac-native software that does this? Perhaps it is not necessary in the Mac version? Every concert or stage show I've gone to for YEARS now uses Macs to control the lighting, so obviously there is a system that works.

DMX lighting control software

Just a handful of options I grabbed from a search.
