Grateful for technique to record Tv shows to 1TB iMac and then to DVD

I use and have great success with the Elgato Eye-TV range.
I use this with my iMac every day when I'm at home, and take it on the road with me on my MBP.

There are other brands out there, but if you want quality and continuous updates and great customer support, then Elgato is the way to go. On top of that, with the Elgato Eye TV App on a iPad, you can watch TV anywhere in the house.

You program EyeTV to record the TV show that you want. If you have the Dual Tuner EyeTV(Diversity), then you can record two shows at the same time.

And as well as just hitting record, you can also set up schedules to record programs when you are not around. There is a series on at 11pm that I have been recording lately by schedule, and its as easy as going into the TV Program window, and click the TV Show you want to record.
There is also a App (for Aust TV) that I can remotely set recoding times too.
Its fairly easy to do, and Elgato has a lot of easy information to read up on to show you what to dp.
