iChat AV issues

20" iMac C2D 2.16ghz, 13" MacBook 2.0ghz, 60gb iPod vid, 1gb nano
For some reason when i try to open up iChat the dock does the usual bounce and shows the arrow underneath the program then it just disappears and acts like the program was never opened.

I have Repaired Disk Permissions to no avail and have run out of ideas

Well i was able to fix the problem.

I uninstalled iChat and reinstalled it off the Panther disc using pacifist.
