If you're trying to install Lion from a bootable USB installer…maybe something went wrong with the creation of the installer.

If this is for a non Mac, (Hackintosh) this thread is closed. And I suspect it is if you don't have access to a Mac and are using TransMac (a favorite of hackers) to try to make a Lion bootable USB flash drive.

I you have a 2007 MacBook (as mentioned in post #1)…you do have access to a Mac. I'm going to assume that it is operational (since you didn't say otherwise)…so it must have OS 10.5 or 10.6 installed on it.

Since at least 10.6.6 is needed to access, purchase, and download apps from the Mac App Store…then you should have no problem downloading the Lion installer onto your 2007 MacBook.

Once this is done…just launch the Lion installer (on the 2007 MacBook)…and everything should be good!:)

If Lion was originally installed on it…then you just need to boot into the Lion recovery partition (command + r)…and reinstall Lion onto the main HD partition.

Then here's the solution:

- Purchase yourself a copy of 10.6 Snow Leopard for $19.99:

Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.)

- Install 10.6.
- Update to the latest version of 10.6 (using Software Update via the Apple menu).
- Download 10.7 Lion onto your 2007 MacBook.
- Install 10.7.

Good to go!:)

You should have mentioned that earlier.:)

Two more suggestions:

1. Go to your local Apple Store (I know that there's one in Louisville)...and see if they can help you get 10.7 installed onto your MacBook.

2. Purchase a $50 external USB optical drive from OWC...so you can use your Snow Leopard disk to install OS 10.6.

OWC VLU2SD24XS External 24X DVD DL USB 2.0... in stock at OWC
