Hey guys, I come looking for help once again. I'm trying to install win7 thru usb due to the fact my drive isnt working. Im running 10.7.5, Ive seen where boot camp will let you install from usb, but my version of bootcamp ,unknown version, it isn't even a option. Its not greyed out, it just not there. How can I go about doing this??

The USB install only applies for models that come with no optical drive alas. You will have to consider if it is worth getting a new optical drive installed. An external may, and that is a big may as BootCamp does require an internal optical drive, work.

Harrb2448 has just explained the (possible) workaround for you. Try an external disc drive. But as Harry said BootCamp normally does require an built-in drive.

I think what's being asked.... is have you considered using a comparable Mac program if one is available? I used Windows for years but I have always been able to find a Mac program that was comparable to the ones I used in Windows.
