Opening email with attachment

I open Finder and then navigate to a file which I then select. I then right click the file and from the shortcut Menu I expected to be able to select Services > New email, but this option does not appear. Where am I going wrong, please? I am using OSX 9.1.

I guess your expectations are wrong
If you right click on a file, there is a menu item called " share " ....; E-mail is in there.

Thanks McBie, they surely were. In my defence I quote from "Mac OSX Lion. The Missing Manual" age 100. 'from the shortcut menu choose Services-->New Email With attachment.
