freecorder equivalent for Mac

HI
I have recently purchased my first Mac (Macbook Air) and am trying to find a way of recording music (MP3) from eg. spotify (I used to do this from time to time on my pc). No spotify for Mac, is there an alternative?

Spotify does have an app for OS X and you can download it from their site for free.

We're not going to assist in illegally copying Spotify music.

If you want a copy of the music they carry on your computer so that you can play it while off line - give Spotify the $10/month.
