Hi

I'm quite new to MAC's and have just made the mistake of accepting an update to Maverick. Now I can't get into my MaC...

Just see an apple and spinning busy icon now.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to recover this machine?

I have a 2TB external USB drive that has been used for Time Machine. But how do I get to recover from it?

Any help greatly appreciated thanks.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Helps if we knew what you had updated from and the Mini details but something sure has gone wrong. For starters boot into Recovery mode and go into utilities and run Repair Permissions for starters. Here is how ton use Recovery. Mountain Lion and Mavericks follow same procedure:-:-

Thanks!

Thanks Harry,

I just tried booting into safe mode but with no luck.

I'll print off these instructions and give them a try.

Sorry about the lack of detail but I don't know much about MAC OS's, more a Linux man myself. I have come to like the mac mini over the last few months though.

I think that it is running some form of lion :)

I'll let you know how it goes.

thanks

Thanks, Harry

That seems to have got it.

I elected to restore from timemachine yesterday afternoon.

It reckons it will be at it for several hours, by which time I will be asleep hopefully.

So thanks in advance of a successful restore!
