wi-fi keeps disconnecting

Sometimes this is due to radio interference from other 2.4GHz sources, including cordless phones, microwave ovens or simply channel crossover.

First thing one can usually do is try changing the "channel" you're using on your router. You'll need two things to do this successfully:

1. A program like iStumbler that will show you the channels being used on Wi-Fi networks around you
2. The (probably browser-based) configuration program for your router, the routers password (both of which can be found in the router's manual unless you've changed the router's password).
