Does anyone know how to turn an iMovie DVD (not iDVD) back into an .m4v?
I need to edit a client's Apple DVD disc into a workable file.

Do you mean a video dvd that you have made using iMovie and iDVD? If so rip it back to your Mac by using Handbrake:
