Hi all, I am a new mac user and i am having a problem mapping my Seagate external drive which is connected to the network via USB on my wireless router(Linksys EA3500) I have a Macbook pro 2012 running Mountain Lion.
I have tried to go to connect to server and type in the address of the drive(smb://192.168.1.1/name of drive) but get a message saying there was a problem connecting to "address of server" please contact admin. This drive was able to be mapped on a Windows system and worked fine. Does the drive need to be formatted to be read by a Mac?
I should mention that when i go to Finder, it does see the drive as a Free Agent drive but it has no folders.
Any help is greatly apppreciated.
