Hi all, would appreciate any info offered.I have a Imac 500mhz- 40gig hdd-512mb ram-OS X 10.2.8 Snow iMac. I'm using an external firewire dvd-rom and can't play movies. Reads the dvd fine, just don't know what software I should be using to view movies.

I recommend that you try a 3rd party dvd software player, something free. Then I would recommend if you can afford to upgrade your osx.

Try VLC Media Player (free)

And if you ever upgrade to 10.4 Panther, definitely look into MediaCentral by Equinux (also free, and freaking amazing--it can practically do everything that Front Row does!)
