Hi,

I am trying to steam videos from Free Streaming Movies - Watch Free Movies Online, but it is asking for a XVID plugin. I followed their download instructions and believe it was not for a MAC computer. I downloaded Perian and currently have that installed on my computer but learned that it does not help with videos that are streaming, and that they will soon be ending their service anyway.

Please help me find an XVID plugin link that will work on my MacBook Pro Lion 10.7.5

Thanks

I would look for another site.
There is no XviD codec for OS X as of yet.

You can try the directions here.
Can't say if it works or not.

???

XVID videos play just fine on my Macs -- VLC plays them, QuickTime plays them thanks to Perian. XVID is just the open-source version of DivX (thus the name).

They don't play here - at least not from that particular site - and I have the latest version of all the same apps installed.

VLC and MPlayer will play Xvid but neither provide a plug-in. Thus, although it's supported, it's not supported where it matters.

I just looked at that site. Given what it is, I'm willing to bet that the Xvid requirement was false which is why it didn't work (that and the fact that there is no Xvid plugin for OS X other than an old QT component which hasn't been updated in six years). Did you install whatever it told you to?
