Mac air/g drive/ipod ????

Moved all music from my old macbook to a g drive slim and my Mac air. All works fine. Loaded some new cd's onto the Air/g drive ad somehow nothing sync's when I plug my iPod into the air with the g drive attached. The iPod icon appears briefly says its syncing and disappears . Do I need to do something with home sharing ???

Re-synced ipod with computer and it seemed to fix my problem.
