Hi all,
I have a 650 gb drive I have used to perform a time machine backup on my macbook.
Now I also have a macbook air. How do I (or can I) partition this backup drive so that I can use it to backup my older macbook AND separately backup my new Macbook Air????

Suggestions??

Don't need to do anything. Just point you MBA at it and turn on Time Machine.

Have been using the same drive for my TM backups for 6 years now and it currently houses the TM backups for 3 Macs.

Thank you for the reply. I don't understand what the "point the MBA" at it means.

He's telling you to attach the MacBook Air to your Time Machine drive when you wish to make a backup. Time Machine will keep the backups from both of your Macs separate so there is no need to partition the drive.
