Here is the thing...have OS 10.5.8....I was going through history on Safari...u know how the page shows up in that virtual way...I needed access to what was on the page, and can no longer get it on web. So I made a jpeg out of it. Problem is the text is too blurry to read. Is there anything I can do to sharpen it up?

Not really. There are various filters in photo editing applications but you're unlikely to improve things.

Have you tried to see if google holds a cached version of the page?

Code:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:
your web address here without the http bit

e.g.
Code:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:www.bbc.co.uk

You could also try the Wayback Machine. It doesn't have cached copies of every day's worth but it might be helpful.
