Where can I download fancy fonts? I use PrintShop for greeting cards, but I find the program doesn't have very many fancy fonts. I also have the Hallmark greeting card program which has many neat fonts, but I can't copy those fonts to my PrintShop cards.I'm not crazy about the Hallmark program. It's very limited.

I have a MacMini, 10.6.8.

Thanks,
Helen

Try the Mac App store. There are several real nice font packages that can be purchased from there. "FontsPro 2" is very nice but it costs $33.99, however, it consists of 1900 professional fonts. Well worth the cost if you're serious about fonts. (The program is in German but very easy to understand.)

Would downloading free fronts from the web be an option? I'm paranoid about any frreebies, but am a little curious as to how safe it is.

Linky. It is a safe site to download fonts. I use to do it all the time for when I have projects. Now I just buy my fonts. >_<"

Pro tip: don't go nuts on fonts. They take up RAM even when not being actively used, and can really slow down the computer when you have tons of them. If you need a large available font catalog, invest in a good font manager as well.

I only need a few fancy fonts. I don't need hundreds of fonts.

I tried downloading a font from Dafont.com and it didn't work. There was no install button. When I hit the download button, it sent a zip file to my computer. When I clicked on that, it just opened a folder named the font I downloaded with files in it. No install button or instructions. What did I do wrong?

Double click the fonts. That should do the trick.

It didn't work. I double clicked the font and it takes me to a page where I can download it. I hit download, and I'm at the same place I was earlier. It opens up with a zip file which I can "Open with Archive Utility" or "Save File". I did both and all it does is save it in a folder with files in it. No installation information. Now I'm getting frustrated.

You need to double click the files in that folder.

It worked! I downloaded five fonts that will work very well in my PrintShop program. Thanks for all your help.
