• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

.mov to .mpeg or WMV conversion

So i created this great slideshow for a friends funeral in Iphoto and was just told by the funeral home director that they can only show .mpeg or .wmv9 files. They can't use Quicktime because it's some special church software and they won't consider using anything else.

Is there any tool, free or commercial that can do this? Flip4Mac only does WMV to .mov.

Thanks in advance

I use a program called cleaner to convert my mov files to wmvs all the time. I dont think they are for windows media player 9 only. I do know they play on older versions and wmp 9. Cleaner does cost money.

If so, it doesn't look like there's a Mac version which would really be helpful...

Or convert them to mpeg format using FFMpegX. (Shareware, but free for what you want to do.)

But why not burn it to DVD? They must be able to show DVD's right?

Even God approves of the DVD standard...
