Hi, I have just switched to the wonderful OSx with a 2nd-hand MBP. The transition is smooth and I am feeling like I will stick with mac till to the end .
I first thing I stumbled in mac is I can't use my useful 1TB external HDD (off course in NTFS, and I have 2 other Windows machine in use, so can't format it to HSF+) to back up or store data from mac directly. I came to know about Paragon NTFS ($19), TuxeraNTFS ($55) NTFS-3G (free) and SLNTFS (free) to handle that problem. My Supervisor uses Paragon NTFS and he's very happy with it.
I am a student and don't want to spend money if I can manage with free/open source software. But since data copying and backup is very important for me, can't decide whether I should pay for the Paragon or go for the free one.
I couldn't test all of the software i mentioned. Please help me to decide, or suggest better alternatives.
Cheers,
