Hi, i am new to the apple world, i want to record a video from an external camera directly on my macbook pro, is that possible, do i need a specific application?

please help

Your Mac's Specs
Mac Mini i5 (2014 High Sierra), iPhone X, Apple Watch, iPad Pro 12.9, AppleTV (4)
You can capture straight into iMovie. Any Mac compatible usb camera would do.

If your talking capturing a live camcorder feed you'll need to be sure it will pass a live feed out.

If you give USA bit more info around what you're wanting to acheive we should be able to nudge you in the right direction
