Since there switching to the iPad minis design. The black will defiantly leave fingerprints.

So far it's looking good.

Depends if you put it in a case or not. My second iPad mini has been a case since day one. My first one spent two weeks without a case. Which lead to the chipping and scratching that the iPhone 5 is prone to.

I was super careful with it and it still chipped. Hopefully they fixed the issue with the iPad 5.

Design wise I'm not surprised. The iPad mini could use some cues from the iPad as well. Namely retina display. :D
