"Upper Bar"

Thats the Menu Bar, and no, there is no way to remove it... and unless you know every keyboard shortcut, why would you want to?

Well, it does go away when playing full screen video. Other than that, no.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't want to remove it, only to hide it like you can with the dock.

i don't think that's such a good idea..its more obtrusive if it does go hide..
as it is, its not a bother at all

uhh..why would you hide that. it has open, prefs, save, etc. its like the menus at the top of windows programs (file edit help etc). the only difference is that each prgram doest have its own. it changes with the app thats on top. or u can think of it as the taskbar in windows.
