downloading music to MP3 Player

Can someone help me I have a Sansa MP3 Player I need to download music. What do I need to do I cannot seem to do it.

Download music from where? If you're trying to download music from the iTunes store you first need an Apple ID and valid credit card. Music can then be downloaded to your iTunes library. You won't be able to directly sync music to the Sansa player. If the Sansa player can be connected via USB to your Mac, it should show up on your desktop as an unknown. If you're able to open the Sansa Player, you can then drag and drop music you purchased to its music folder.

A Sansa MP3 player is not going to be able to handle iTunes' purchase AAC tracks, I should think.

The OP will need to rip songs from CDs into MP3 format (iTunes can do this no problem) and then use the method you describe to drag them on -- like files on a thumb drive -- to the Sansa player.

Loathe as I am to discourage options and competition: treat yourself to an iPod already!

We buy inexpensive MP3 players in order to use as giveaways loaded up with our own recordings. Our recordings have all been imported to the iTunes library on the office iMac. As long as they are in MP3 format, they can be dragged and dropped from the iTunes library direct to the MP3 player. As chas_m indicated the players are unable to handle iTunes AAC format so everything must first be converted to MP3.
