I watch movies on my TiVo, and in order to do so, I have to convert them to MP2 format (TiVo won't recognize anything else). Most of the movies I have are in AVI to start, although some are in other formats. For the past 8 months I've been using iSkysoft to convert them, and never once had an issue. Last week, the software required an upgrade, and when I downloaded it, I got a message saying it wasn't compatible with my operating system.
I have a 2007 MacBook that was still using Leopard, with 2GB of RAM and 70GB of free space. I bought the Snow Leopard and installed it. Now, when I play back converted videos on TiVo, there are horizontal white lines running through it and the video is choppy and fuzzy. I initially thought it was one video, but others are the same. Then I thought it was the iSkysoft video converter software, since that was the only other thing that changed recently. I downloaded a different free converter just to test it out, with the same results. So....I *think* it's an issue with Snow Leopard.
I've seen discussions of others having video playback issues with Snow Leopard, but haven't seen anything specific like this. Has anyone else had a similar issue, or have any idea on what could be causing this or how to resolve it? I'd greatly appreciate it!
