I have downloaded WIN Migration assistant, but Snow Leopard has no option for data transfer from a PC - just from another Mac, so the two will not connect.
Is my only option to copy to CD then load to Mac or is there another easier way?

You could use this, costs $40
Move2Mac Official Site: Learn More About Move2Mac from Detto Technologies

Or you could pay $20 and upgrade to Mtn Lin

Or you could move your stuff manually (bottom of page, after Migration Asst)
Switch Basics: Migrate your Windows files or system to your Mac

EDIT: It has been several years since I migrated from a PC to my Mac. All I remember is it worked fairly well. Dont't remember now if I used Move2Mac or just did the brute force method.
If it were me, I would try brute force first. If you have your OS disk (I think from your previous thread you do) if you mess up too bad you can always reformat and start over from scratch.
