Hello all,

I am trying to install Realflight 6 on my Mac using Parallels to run Windows 8.

Every time I insert the RF6 installation disc I hear it spinning, but then it self ejects before opening or even showing up in the drive.

The funny thing is is that the Mega Pack installation disc is recognized just fine.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

After perhaps cleaning the disc, I would suggest their support forums here.

Thank you. I have already tried them and have not, as of yet, found an answer. I thought maybe it was a Mac issue/setting that I could troubleshoot.

Could also be a dusty lens if you've had this Mac for awhile. Try shooting 3-4 quick blasts of canned air into the slot of the drive - while shut down naturally.

Also, you may find that Realflight 6 or 6.5 does not work or respond well running in Parallels. Although the system requirements seem to suggest you can run it in a VM, the fact that it needs a hefty amount of 3D acceleration leads me to believe you would be better off installing Windows 8 and running it from a Boot Camp dual boot. (That is after you resolve your optical disk drive problems.)

Thank you, I will try cleaning the drive and if I am ever successful installing RF6 and find it doesn't run well in Parallels I will then try Bootcamp. Thank you again for your answers.
