mac OS10.8.2 w/chrome problem

Google Chrome shows in the menu bar, however nothing else functions. Drop downs appear but nothing will open. ie; preferences, new tab, help etc. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Try force quit (via the apple symbol) and then re-start Google Chrome

Chrome does have some problems, mostly being 32bit application. Try trashing downloading again.
