My Mac PowerBook G4 died and I need to retrieve the information from the hard drive.
I was told I could purchase an enclosure with a USB cord to attach to my new MacBook Pro.
Will this work? How do I know which enclosure to purchase?
Thanks ahead of time for your assistance!
Cheers,
Terry

Way too little information there to give you any useful answers.

If the hard drive died (and that was the reason your PB G4 died), then your information is toast and you're not going to get it back short of spending thousands of dollars on a professional data recovery service.

If you're reasonably sure the hard drive is okay and the PB died of some other cause, you can buy an enclosure for mobile hard drives, take the old HD out of the PB, place it in the enclosure and fire it up on your new machine. Hopefully the drive will be able to be read and you can retrieve some or all of the data from it.
