Upgrade to mountain lion problems

I upgraded to OS X mountain Lion ( 10.8.2) and now I have lost most of my items on the launch pad. I have only three left. How do I restore all my previous ones?

Are you sure they're lost or you are just looking at a page in Launchpad that only has 3 items on it?
Try two finger scrolling left and right while in it.

What 3 items are there?

My problem solved itself when I opened an application. All of a sudden all items are on the launch pad again.:):)
