2012 MBP i7 2.7 GHz 15" Matte - 16 GB RAM - 120 GB Intel SSD - 500 GB DataDoubler Mac OS 10.9
I suggest you use the 30 trial that both Lr and Aperture offer and see for yourself which one you prefer.
I personally prefer Lr, but everybody else in my household uses Aperture. Lr's workflow and handling of images just "click" better with me.

As for which is better, both are built for Mac and they will work (Performance wise) equally well.

Way... way too many specs to list.
Try them both, use the one you prefer. I could tell you that I prefer LR, but this really won't mean much at al... For you.

LR here. Only because I use pretty much every other Adobe App since I was 12.

Aperture and iPhoto are integrated well, moving from one to the other is seamless.

Thanks all for your input, i would say that i'm more convenient with LR. It's easier than Aperture!!
