Should I really be worried about viruses on macintosh? I've had them before and had no problem. Due to financial constraints I have been using an older PC running Ubuntu. Now am back on a mac (thank god) and was wondering what you guys thought about malicious threats. I just remember last year or something there was a big deal.

There's nothing to worry about. In order to get some malware on your Mac, you really have to be an idiot to be blunt. Just be smart and you'll have zero issues.

Did not know there were any viruses that affected Macs, Malware,Trojans thats different.
But personally I feel happy behind XProtect which came in with SL, and controlling my fingers and keyboard combination.:D:D

The best protection you have on a Mac is paying attention to what you click on. Stay away from "too good to be true" offers for "free" high-priced software (exceptions with the Bundles you will see commented on here).

common sense works well on a Mac.

Too bad that doesn't help the people that don't have it.
