I am trying to portforward, but I can't reach the login screen for my router. My router is Arris TM822. I have found my router IP address and entered into my search bar on safari, but everytime I do it says Safari cant connect to page because it cant connect to server. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.

What version of OS X are you using and how about some info regarding your Mac?

But, just for your information, the user manual for your Router does not indicate that it has an internal menu like most modern routers - modems do. Also, the last version of Mac OS they indicate that ethernet is compatible with is very old.

I would suggest getting rid of that router and buy a new more modern one. Here's the LINK to the user manual. User Manual

I just downloaded Mountain Lion two weeks ago. As far as the router goes, we just had it installed about a month ago by cableone so i dont see how it is too old.

In that case, contact Cable One and ask for tech support. Also, I suggest reading the user guide I linked you to before calling them.
