drag and drop

can't be able to drag and drop.....after dragging can't be able drop icon or files, gets stuck on cursor and won't let go, can't do anything else, can't shut down properly need to hold down power button till goes off.....does anybody know how to correct this? any help would be greatly appreciated...........thank you

Well it will help if you can tell us computer and operating system details. For Lion and Mountain Lion anything else boot from install disc and run repair Disk and see how the hard drive is. use Recovery mode and

i have a stock macbook pro 15" did some suggestions in preferences with and without drag lock.....but still the same thing won't let go.....it is running lion...upgrade from snow leopard
