Sharing my computer/guest account

I allow my computer to be shared using my guest account. Can you stay logged on to the guest account and also be logged onto my account. When they log off some information is lost or not stored. Thanks.

Yes, enable fast user switching in the System Preferences > Users and Groups > Show fast User switching
