Can I leave macbookpro (2007) on all the time?

Hello! Great forum!

Quick q to start with! :)

I no longer use my MacBook Pro out of the house much (iPad :) ) and I've decided to use it as my main media centre in the main room

I leave my Mac mini and pro tower on all the time but:

Is it okay to leave my 17" macbookpro 2007 on all the time - day and night? It won't be moved but the lid will be closed all the time as my tv will be showing signal

Notebooks are not designed or meant to be on all the time. Can you, yes. Should you, no. At least put it to sleep when not using it.

Yes, you would be severely shortening the (remaining) life in that old machine. I would sleep it when not in use.
