display problem using an adapter to TV

Mac-Forum members,

I'm using a macally mini display port to HDMI adapter to connect to my TV. On 1080p, the screen seems to be over extended. Like I cant see the bottom and top of the screen at all. I tried other resolutions, but they were awful.

Any ideas on how to fix this?
