MacBook Pro, 15" Retina... 2X 2TB G-Drives and 1 4TG G-Drive.
Why does it take an unsually long time to 'securely' empty the trash? I am coming from Windows (the dark side) and it took seconds there.....

When 'securely' emptying the trash, the computer is overwriting the files, rather than just deleting the location address of the file. If you choose not to securely empty, it will take seconds as well.
