viewing photos to select for sharing

I don't understand why when I go to share a photo or file on facebook or anywhere, when the finder comes up with the folder the files are in, I can only view it as a bunch of letters and numbers, not as the photo I am looking for. But when I cancel the attempted share then open the finder, the files are shown as pictures, not letters n numbers, unless I click over to tat mode, which is what I must do to get the code numbers that identify the selected photo, so I can then go back to share the photo, now that I have the information I need to identify the photo that I can no longer see, as it has been switched to the id numbers n letters defining the photo.I've had my macbook pro for over a year now and I still can't stand it. I was told for years how much more intuitive they are to PC. I'm not having that sort of an experience with mine.

Can you post your Mac Specs, what os you are running too please.
Are these photo's you have in iPhoto ?? Where you can open the photo in iPhoto then share it via the FB share button ?? More info please so we can help you out.

i think the iphotos shows actual thumbnails of photos. It's images and documents and others that show the id/code stuff instead of photos. I also have a problem with iphoto tho. I can't load anymore photos into my i photo account. <= different ticket.

I actually have been switching back to my pc when I have to share or load pics. ..or I just use my android ...
