Not sure what kind of networks are available in India - but the first thing to try is to switch off 4G LTE - settings -> general -> cellular -> Turn Enable LTE to off. Yes you won't get the 4G speeds (not sure if that is available or not anyway) but it may save battery life. The same thing happened when they released the iPhone 3GS. Many people had to turn off 3G to save battery life and just use EDGE.

A few other things that people often don't realize are battery hogs:

1. Do you have notifications turned on for a variety of apps?
2. Do you have push email enabled for your account, or if not, do you have it set to frequently check for email?
3. Are location services enabled for apps that don't need them? In other words, do you see the navigation icon at the top-right of the screen (looks like a compass arrow) often?

Face Time will also eat battery life.

And screen brightness. That's a real battery hog. Dim it to the lowest level with which you are comfortable.
